“YouTube told us they can’t promote YB because of his image,” Junnier wrote on his Instagram story in a since deleted post. Weak ass platform. Your #1 artist 3 years in a row.”

In 2020, the Wall Street Journal referred to NBA YoungBoy as the “biggest artist on YouTube,” citing his release of 11 music videos from 2018 and 2019 alone, which cracked 100 million views on the platform. In terms of metrics, YoungBoy’s dominance on YouTube puts him ahead of traditional stream kings such as Drake, and others.

YoungBoy released the featureless Sincerely, Kentrell on Friday (September 24). The 21-track effort comes after the Baton Rouge rapper was arrested in March stemming from a 2020 incident in his hometown. He entered a plea of not guilty in regard to the case. Despite he and his lawyer’s desires, he remains in custody.
